History

It all started with Daniël Ekamper, a father who bought the café with adjoining flour mill. When his son harry Ekamper takes over in 1970, the business is extensively reconstructed and extended. A part of the house is added to the business. A kitchen with dining room is established and new hotel rooms are built. In 1982, the current modern hotel is added on to the same location.

When in 1987 the specialty restaurant ‘De Molensteen’ (‘The Millstone’) is founded, the complex is finished. It then includes three restaurants, a pleasant lounge with bar and a hotel with 24 rooms. Modern venues offer space for groups from 10 to 200 people and are often used for receptions and meetings. The year 2000 is an anniversary year for the Ekamper family.

Since 1970, for 30 years, Harry Ekamper has led a modern and dynamic company together with this wife Thea. Modern management and high quality standards from today go hand in hand with the philosophy of this family-owned company. On January 1, 2001, the third generation of the Ekamper family, Daniël and Gerlinda Ekamper, takes over the business. Daniël and Gerlinda continue the business where their parents left it. They started renovating the café, next the 15 hotel rooms will be renovated and the build of 12 new rooms has already started. The Ekamper family will be there for you in the future as well.
